Prof. Dominique Turpin Appointed New CEIBS President (European)

September 1, 2022. Shanghai – As decided by CEIBS Board of Directors, Prof. Dominique Turpin has been appointed President (European) of CEIBS as of September 1, 2022, replacing Prof. Dipak C. Jain, who concludes his term of office on the same day.
Born in 1957, Prof. Turpin holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Sophia University in Japan, and a Masters from ESSCA in France. Between 2010 and 2016, he was the President and Dean of IMD, where he has been serving as a professor of marketing. For his outstanding accomplishments in executive education, he was awarded life-long membership of the International Academy of Management.
Prof. Turpin is well recognized for his expertise and consultancy in brand management, customer centricity, marketing strategy and Asian business strategy. Currently, he is a board member of EFMD and sits on the International Advisory Board of prestigious institutions such as the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), and Waseda Business School (Japan).
He has also been a member of CEIBS Academic Council since the school’s establishment.
Prof. Turpin has extensive connection with the corporate world and is currently active in consulting companies in sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing and on-line education. He also served on the board of a well-known Chinese company.
During the tenure of Prof. Dipak Jain, CEIBS made remarkable progress by becoming a top-tier business school in the international rankings. Prof. Jain made outstanding contributions to the internationalization and global branding of the school as well as to its curricular development in emerging subjects. As a role model for the practice of social responsibility and a keen adherent of CEIBS’ “Co-culture” (meaning collaborative), he epitomizes the school’s quest to become the most respected business education institution in the world.
