What GMAT score is needed for the CEIBS MBA?
MBA admissions are not based on a single cut-off score. Applications are reviewed holistically, taking into account academic background, work experience, and overall profile. As a reference point, recent cohorts have a median GMAT Focus Edition score of 615 and an average GRE score of 326–329. These figures are updated with each incoming class.

Does CEIBS accept GRE?
Yes. CEIBS accepts GMAT, GRE, or the CEIBS Admission Test. The CEIBS Admission Test is a GMAT-style exam hosted once or twice per admission cycle, and each applicant may only attempt it once. There is no such restriction for GMAT or GRE.

What work experience do CEIBS MBA applicants usually have?
The minimum requirement is two years of full-time work experience, but most candidates bring more than that. Recent cohorts average around 5.4 years, with backgrounds spanning consulting, technology, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, and other industries.

What is the CEIBS MBA interview like?
Shortlisted applicants are interviewed in English, usually by two interviewers drawn from CEIBS faculty, department directors, alumni, or admissions staff. The interview usually lasts around 30-40 minutes and is a key part of the evaluation process.
It is designed to assess your academic and professional background, as well as your motivation for pursuing the MBA, your career goals, and your ability to contribute to a diverse, international cohort. Applicants may be asked to discuss their work experience, leadership examples, decision-making approach, and interest in CEIBS specifically.
The interview is considered alongside the full application, including test scores, essays, and recommendations, as part of a holistic assessment of overall fit and potential.

Can international students apply without speaking Mandarin?
Yes. The MBA is taught in English, and Mandarin is not required for admission. CEIBS does, however, offer free Mandarin classes during the programme, which can be useful for students planning to work in China.

Is the GMAT required for the Global EMBA?
No. Global EMBA applicants are encouraged to take the Executive Assessment, but GMAT and GRE scores are also accepted. In some cases, applicants may be invited to complete a CEIBS admissions test.

What does CEIBS actually look for in a Global EMBA applicant?
CEIBS looks for senior professionals with at least eight years of work experience, including at least five years in managerial roles, alongside strong English ability, a global mindset, leadership potential, openness to learning, and organisational support to attend the programme.

What is the Executive Assessment, and how is it different from the GMAT?
The Executive Assessment is a test developed by GMAC for experienced professionals applying to executive programmes. It evaluates skills such as critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving. Compared to the GMAT, it is shorter and more focused, making it better suited to Global EMBA applicants with established work experience.

When do I need to take the Executive Assessment — before or after I apply?
You can apply first and then take the Executive Assessment. For most rounds, it should be completed within four weeks after the interview, while Round 4 applicants are expected to have it done by the application deadline.

How long does it take to hear back after I submit my Global EMBA application?
Once your application process is complete, an admission decision is typically made within two weeks.

What do I need to submit to complete my Global EMBA application?
A completed application generally includes the online form, essays, supporting documents such as a photo, passport, education certificates, organisational chart and company brochure, plus recommendation letters. Two recommendation letters and four essays are also among the required materials.

Who is the CEIBS Global MiM designed for?
The Global MiM is designed for recent bachelor’s or master’s graduates with minimal work experience who want to build a global management foundation early and begin their careers with strong China and Europe exposure.

Does the Global MiM require work experience?
No. The programme is intentionally built as a zero-experience or minimal-experience pathway, and applicants should have up to one year of work experience at most.

Where does the Global MiM programme take place?
The programme runs across four cities: Shanghai (China), Paris (France), London (United Kingdom), and Zurich (Switzerland). This multi-city structure is built into the curriculum, with each location forming a required stage of the programme.

Do I need a GMAT or GRE score to apply?
Yes. An official GMAT or GRE score is required for the Global MiM. These tests are used to assess quantitative ability, analytical thinking, and academic readiness for a rigorous, internationally focused programme. If you have not yet taken the GMAT or GRE at the time of application, you may still submit your application. The admissions team will issue a conditional offer to applicants who meet all other requirements. The applicant will then have the opportunity to take the GMAT or GRE test and submit a valid score by a specified deadline to secure full admission.

Do I need to take an English language test if I already studied in English?
Not necessarily. CEIBS waives the English test for native speakers and for applicants who completed a degree taught fully in English for at least three years at institutions where the official teaching language is English.

CEIBS looks for recent graduates from any post-secondary programme with strong academic results, a global outlook, and clear leadership potential. The programme accepts students from non-business backgrounds, which helps create a more diverse class.

How do I apply, and what are the steps?
The process has three stages: submit the online application, attend an online or in-person interview if shortlisted, and then wait for the admission decision. The application package includes the completed application form, GMAT or GRE score, English test score if required, transcripts, CV, recommendation letters, and any supporting materials. Bachelor students in their penultimate year (usually junior or third year students) may contact the Global MiM Admissions office for pre-admission interview opportunities.

When are the application deadlines, and how many rounds are there?
For the Class of 2026, there are four application rounds: October 29, 2025; January 14, 2026; March 18, 2026; and May 12, 2026. Decision dates follow on December 3, 2025; February 11, 2026; April 15, 2026; and June 2, 2026. For the August 2026 intake, the admissions season may extend into the summer, as applications are reviewed on a rolling basis even after the deadline. How long is the CEIBS MBA, and when does it start?
The MBA is a full-time, 16-month English programme, with an expedited one-year option also available. The programme has one intake each year and starts in August.

What core courses will I take in the first two terms?
The first two terms build a solid foundation across key business disciplines, covering areas such as organisational behaviour, financial accounting, marketing, economics, strategy, corporate finance, data analytics, operational thinking, and business, society, and environment. A Leadership Journey programme also runs from orientation through Term 2, developing leadership and interpersonal skills alongside the academic curriculum. From Term 3 onward, the curriculum transitions into a mix of advanced core and elective courses. When do electives start, and how many can I choose?
Electives begin from Term 3 and continue through Terms 4 and 5. Students choose from approximately 40 electives spanning areas including AI and digital transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainable finance and ESG, marketing analytics, private equity and venture capital, and more. The elective portfolio is regularly updated to reflect evolving industry trends and student demand.

Does CEIBS offer any dual degree options alongside the MBA?
Yes. CEIBS offers two coordinated degree programmes in partnership with top U.S. universities, allowing students to earn two prestigious qualifications in a streamlined timeframe. The options are a Master of Public Health (MPH) with the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) with The Fletcher School at Tufts University. What is the language of instruction for the CEIBS MBA?
The CEIBS MBA is taught entirely in English. All core courses, electives, case discussions, and assessments are conducted in English. Mandarin is not required for admission or participation. What are the four cities I will study in, and what is the focus of each semester?
Students study across four locations, with each stage focusing on a different part of the programme. The first term in Shanghai covers core management courses. In Paris, students move into electives and begin to specialise while finishing the remaining core courses. London continues with advanced specialised courses, while the final stage in Zurich combines further specialisation with thesis work.

What does the global internship involve, and how long does it last?
The programme includes a required global internship or work component lasting four to eight months, depending on the focal student's prior internship experience before entering the programme. Yes. The Global MiM is a full-time, two-year programme. The coursework period lasts around 14 months.

How big are the classes, and how is the cohort structured?
The official intake is 100 students split into two sections. The cohort is jointly recruited, with 50 students selected by CEIBS and 50 by ESCP Business School. International students are expected to make up 50% or more of each cohort.

What two degrees will I graduate with?
You graduate with two master’s degrees from CEIBS and ESCP under the CEIBS (Switzerland)-ESCP double degree structure. The ESCP degree is a standard French grande école degree and the CEIBS (Switzerland) one is a standard master’s degree.

The Global MiM is taught in English. However, some electives in other languages may be available in Paris, depending on availability.

The ICSP is the CEIBS MBA's signature consulting engagement. Student teams of five to six work under the guidance of a CEIBS faculty adviser and a corporate sponsor to address a real strategic challenge over approximately three months, culminating in a final report and actionable recommendations. For the 2026 intake, Global EMBA tuition is USD 118,000 or RMB 848,000. The application fee is USD 150 or RMB 1,000, and it is waived if you take the Executive Assessment.

Do I need a start-up to join the InnoLab?
No. The majority of InnoLab members use the centre to cultivate innovative thinking and develop skills to lead change inside established organisations as intrapreneurs driving digital transformation, launching new business units, or championing corporate ventures. InnoLab offers dedicated programming for these students, including Inno Talks, Inno Workshop series, and co-creation challenges with industry partners.
