ESG – Act Responsibly, Think Sustainably
CEIBS was the first business school on the Chinese mainland to advocate for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). The school incorporates ESG-related content into its teaching, research, and student and alumni events. We encourage our students to proactively fulfill social responsibility and aim above and beyond business success.
- CEIBS has made “Exemplifying ESG education" one of its eight strategic initiatives as part of its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2021-2025)
- Since the FT made ESG one of its key ranking indicators, the school has maintained its ranking in this category every year
- The school has initiated an interdisciplinary research area focused on ESG and has developed ESG-related courses and cases to support research on ESG and related issues
- In 2011, CEIBS incorporated “responsible leadership" into its mission statement, a testament to the school's important role in shaping China's business practices
- In 2017, the school published the CEIBS CSR White Paper for the first time, which has since been released annually for seven consecutive years
- In 2019, no less than 10% ESG-related content was integrated into the core courses across all CEIBS programmes
- In 2023, CEIBS launched its carbon neutrality strategy to put its philosophy of sustainable development into practice and promote its green and low-carbon transformation; in the same year, CEIBS published its first Carbon Information Disclosure Report, with a commitment to achieving full-scope carbon neutrality by 2050
