CEIBS in the Media 2024

December 6, 2024, Shanghai – CEIBS faculty continued to play a prominent role in global media throughout this year, offering valuable insights into the most pressing business and economic issues involving China and the world.
In a year characterised by geopolitical shifts and economic challenges, CEIBS reaffirmed its reputation as a leader in business education and thought leadership, serving as a bridge between China, Europe, and the broader global community.
As the global economy navigated uncertainty, CEIBS professors provided critical perspectives. Prof. Zhu Tian spoke extensively on China’s preparedness for a potential new Trump administration, highlighting its economic implications. He shared his analysis in prominent outlets, including Handelsblatt, Les Echos, and The Straits Times. Prof. Bala Ramasamy explored how China could benefit from U.S. trade tariffs in an in-depth interview with Italy’s La Stampa.
CEIBS also maintained its prominent placement in business education rankings, with the school’s EMBA program being ranked #1 globally by the Financial Times. CEIBS President (European) Dominique Turpin underscored Europe’s strategic importance in US-China relations during an exclusive South China Morning Post interview. Meanwhile, CEIBS Dean Prof. Frank Bournois discussed the growing competition in MBA programs globally in an interview with Challenges.fr.
CEIBS also contributed to advancing discussions on sustainability and innovation. Prof. Majid Ghorbani emphasised the importance of start-ups in promoting green consumerism in The Straits Times, while at the CEIBS Innovation Forum in Beijing, Prof. Xu Bin provided a sharp analysis of China’s economic trajectory which was featured on Dutch national TV network NPO.
In Reuters, Prof. Albert Hu analysed EU-China trade tensions, and Prof. Jean Lee contributed to a Financial Times article on leadership courses for female business leaders. Elsewhere, Prof. Eric Bouteiller explained how China's demographics create opportunities for R&D in The Economist.
Meanwhile, in a piece which highlights the quality of the school's alumni, a Financial Times feature showcased how CEIBS MBA graduate Leo Lu saved his family business.
