Major gift set to help advance supply chain and service innovation research

September 13, 2021. Shanghai – Zhenkunhang Industrial Supermarket (ZKH) today donated 10 million RMB to the CEIBS Education Development Foundation to support the naming of the CEIBS ZKH Supply Chain and Service Innovation Centre during a special ceremony at the school’s Shanghai campus.
During the event, CEIBS President Wang Hong said that the contributions made by ZKH to the development of China’s manufacturing industry and donation to CEIBS reflect the company’s high sense of social responsibility.
She also said that she hopes that ZKH will serve as a role model to inspire more alumni to contribute to the school’s sustainable development.
CEIBS Santander Chair Professor of Economics Zhu Tian then reflected on ZKH Chairman and General Manager Chen Long’s (AMP 2005, SEPC 2007, LCP 2011, EMBA 2020) long friendship with the school and the significance of ZKH’s gift in helping CEIBS realise its social and economic value.
As a result of its outstanding academic ability and industry influence, Prof. Zhu continued, CEIBS has remained at the forefront of supply chain management research in Asia and ZKH’s generous support will help push the school’s efforts in this field to new heights.
ZKH is committed to using digital technology to empower more small and medium-sized enterprises and to promote “more transparent, more efficient and better business,” Chen Long told the audience of faculty, alumni and students during the event.
He added that his studies at CEIBS, in particular, have helped him establish many of his business management ideas and that he hopes ZKH’s gift will help enhance the school’s influence.
Finally, CEIBS ZKH Supply Chain and Service Innovation Centre Director and CEIBS JD Operations and Supply Chain Management Chair Professor Zhao Xiande then noted that the efforts of companies such as ZKH can help strengthen the co-operation between industry, government and higher-education institutes and help develop and expand the digital supply chain ecosystem.
He also stated that ZKH’s combination of industry and digital knowledge has helped companies solve many problems and that the newly established research centre would also work to establish a connection between the industrial and consumer internet.
