CEIBS Aged to Perfection Workshop
November 14, 2019. Shanghai— The CEIBS Aged to Perfection workshop was held at our Shanghai Campus today.
CEIBS recently hosted a workshop to showcase the research of the CEIBS Aged to Perfection Research Fund grant recipients in honour of Dr. Gerard Van Schaik, Honorary Chairman of EFMD and Vice Chairman of the CEIBS Board of Directors. This was the second workshop delivered as part of the CEIBS Special Purpose Research Fund, following the CEIBS-Cathay Private Equity Research Workshop held in March. CEIBS Vice-President and Dean Ding Yuan attended the workshop, where he gave some welcome remarks. He was followed by a keynote speech by Dr. Van Schaik on “Moral Responsibility of Companies and Countries with Regards to the Aging Population”. Helke Carvalho Hernandes, Vice-President of EFMD, also joined the workshop.
As part of the workshop, the grant winners – who hailed from Canada, the UK, France, the US and China – presented cutting-edge research on the topic of the world’s aging population and shared their economic, psychological and management perspectives on the issue. Each presenter also shared their view on the challenges and opportunities presented by changing demographics as a result of low birth-rates and longer life expectancies.
The afternoon was concluded with a speech by the faculty co-ordinator for the fund, CEIBS Assistant Professor of Management Emily David.
