November 25, 2024. Shanghai – Eight CEIBS professors - Zhao Xiande, Shameen Prashantham, Jiing-Lih (Larry) Farh, Frank Yu, Zhao Hao, Tae Yeol Kim, Ho Kwong Kwan and Katherine Xin - have been included in the 2024 World’s Top 2% Scientists list, demonstrating the research strength and academic influence of CEIBS in global management education.
Compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier, a leading academic publisher, the list is based on data from Scopus to identify global scientific leaders across 22 fields and 174 subfields. It draws from six key metrics, including total number of citations, h-index and Hm-index to reflect the research output and academic impact of global scientists.
Over the past 30 years, CEIBS has embraced a philosophy that seamlessly integrates teaching and research, balancing academic rigor with practical insights. CEIBS has pioneered innovative research models, including its "academic research + Real Situation Learning Method TM (RSLM™)" model, while advancing its signature "2+4+X" interdisciplinary research mechanism and focusing on key cutting-edge areas of study. These initiatives aim to drive comprehensive knowledge creation and dissemination, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and solidify CEIBS’ position as a leader in academic excellence. As one of the its Eight Strategic Priorities, the school’s goal to "Create signature research areas" underscores CEIBS’ commitment to strengthening its research capabilities, establishing interdisciplinary research hubs, and expanding its global academic influence.
CEIBS faculty have also led the Business and Management category of Elsevier's "Highly-Cited Chinese Researchers" ranking for ten consecutive years. Since 2003, CEIBS faculty have published over 300 books and monographs, and over 400 papers in top business and management journals (40/45/50) recognised by the Financial Times.
