October 14, 2022. Shanghai – China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and ETS China recently reached a strategic cooperation agreement to establish the CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship. The scholarship is for MBA applicants who have achieved significant career breakthroughs and have generated a positive impact on society through creative solutions, aims to cultivate outstanding young talents in business schools. In the future, the two parties will carry out further cooperation in applicant evaluation, promoting business education development, and talent cultivation.

As a widely accepted admissions test for graduate and business school programmes worldwide, the GRE General Test’s data also reflects an increase in business applications. Amongst applicants applying to graduate-level institutions worldwide through the GRE General Test during the 2020-2021 academic year, 10% said they planned to major in business. Amongst them, the proportion of Chinese students reached 20%. In the past five years, an increasing number of Chinese candidates have used GRE scores to apply to business schools, at a growth rate of 66%.

In order to support business school applicants to obtain better career development through business education and to cultivate outstanding future business leaders, CEIBS and ETS China will establish the CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship, according to the strategic cooperation agreement signed by the two parties. The first CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship programme will be open to students who have a valid GRE General Test score and have successfully been admitted to CEIBS MBA Class of 2025 (2023 intake).

Additionally, based on the cooperation network established by ETS China and global institutions, especially with more than 1,300 business schools, we will further our discussion with CEIBS on business education and talent training to promote business education development in China.”

Introduction of the CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship

The CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship is designed to reward applicants who have achieved significant career breakthroughs and have generated positive impacts on society through creative solutions.

Eligibility:

• Make a significant, positive impact on society
• Make a significant breakthrough in your career
• Present a creative solution that was implemented with impressive results

Additional criteria:

• A minimum of two years of full-time work experience
• A bachelor’s degree or higher
• An unconditional offer of admission to join the CEIBS MBA Class of 2025 (2023 intake)
• Valid GRE General Test scores

Application process:

1. Scholarship applicants are encouraged to follow the regular application process for MBA2025 and to secure admission within the first three application rounds.
2. After receiving the offer of admission, scholarship applicants must then submit a separate essay (800-1500 words) to demonstrate their achievements and suitability based on one or more of the three areas of impact outlined above (see eligibility).
3. Shortlisted applicants will then be notified, interviewed, and made aware of the final result in accordance with the timeline outlined in the table below.
