CEIBS hosts Corporate Advisory Board Meeting to advance business-education dialogue
May 27, 2026. Shanghai—China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) held its biannual Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) meeting at its Shanghai campus today, bringing together senior executives, board members, faculty, and institutional representatives to discuss developments shaping global business and management education.
The meeting focused on strengthening engagement between academia and industry, with discussions centred on how business schools and companies can respond to rapid technological change, particularly the growing impact of artificial intelligence, as well as broader geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
Participants included representatives from leading global organisations including 3M, Air Liquide, Atlas Copco Group, BASF, Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, Electrolux Group, the EU Chamber of Commerce in China, EY, FedEx, Logitech, Maersk, Michelin, New Hope Group, Philips, Shanghai Disney Resort, Sodexo, Tezign, and Valeo.
In her opening remarks, CEIBS President Wang Hong highlighted the school’s ongoing development and the increasing importance of leadership capability, strategic foresight and lifelong learning in a rapidly changing global environment.
“Management education today is shifting from simply seeking answers to cultivating sound judgment,” she said. “By combining ‘China Depth’ with ‘Global Breadth’, CEIBS aims to help organisations and individuals build long-term competitiveness in an era increasingly shaped by AI and uncertainty.
CEIBS Co-President (European) Frank Bournois went on to highlight that the advisory board plays a key role in shaping the school’s direction by providing feedback from industry leaders.
“The Corporate Advisory Board is a place where we want you to challenge us. This is not simply a social event for us,” Prof. Bournois noted. “It provides an essential input as we work together to pioneer new approaches in business education for both degree and executive education participants.”
Attendees then engaged in breakout discussions centred on three strategic themes, focusing on “Broadening Executive Education via Cross-Industry Perspectives”; “Building an AI Platform Connecting Students, Alumni, Faculty and Businesses”; and “Doing Business in China for Newly Appointed Expatriates.”
Following these sessions, representatives from each group presented their key takeaways, highlighting cross-industry executive education, AI-enabled talent development and ecosystem integration, and supporting global leaders doing business in China as vital areas of shared interest between business schools and firms.
In his closing remarks, President of EFMD Global and CEIBS Vice Chairman Eric Cornuel reflected on CEIBS’ development over the past three decades, from the China Europe Management Institute established in the 1980s to one of the world’s leading international business schools today. He emphasised the important role that business and academia can play in promoting long-term stability, international cooperation, and responsible leadership in an increasingly complex global environment.
Prof. Cornuel also expressed his hope that the Corporate Advisory Board would continue to serve as a long-term platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration between CEIBS and the global business community.
