CEIBS Africa EMBA 2015 alumni hold 10-Year Anniversary Reunion in Accra
September 26–28, 2025. Accra- The CEIBS Africa EMBA 2015 cohort celebrated its 10-Year Anniversary Reunion over the weekend of September 26 to 28, marking the first time that a CEIBS class has gathered from around the world to celebrate a milestone in Africa on the CEIBS Accra campus in Ghana.
The class reunited to share precious memories, strengthen bonds, and “give forward” to CEIBS as they look toward a new decade.
Back to school: lifelong learning
The reunion opened with a company visit to Greenhouse Group’s Bright International Industrial Zone, hosted by CEIBS GEMBA 2024 alumnus Wilson Wu, who offered participants an inside look at a Chinese-owned business rooted in Ghana. The visit inspired lively discussions about China–Africa business dynamics, a phenomenon that has remained in constant evolution since the cohort’s days at CEIBS.
The following day formed the core of the reunion programme. In the morning, the class went back to school for a lecture by CEIBS Associate Dean (Africa) and Professor of International Business and Strategy Shameen Prashantham, whose teaching on Strategic Partnering was a highlight of the event. Thought-provoking and practical, it anchored the weekend in a spirit of lifelong learning.
The subsequent lunch break took place in a special setting: almost 100 fresh graduates of this year’s WELA, ODP and AMP programmes were on campus to celebrate their own CEIBS milestone. In this context, the Africa EMBA 2015 Class had the honour of a one-hour meet and greet with CEIBS President (European) Dominique Turpin, who shared insightful updates about CEIBS’ global progress and congratulated the class for setting an example of alumni commitment to their alma mater.
The afternoon was reserved for the final session of a Strategy Design Sprint, a consulting project the class had embarked on together with Director of CEIBS Africa and Associate Professor of Management Practice Gordon Adomdza, leading up to the reunion. The goal was to co-create a pilot research tool to measure CEIBS’ impact in Africa.
Saturday evening concluded with a celebratory dinner attended by the class along with honorary guests including President of the CEIBS Ghana Alumni Chapter Dr. David Amoo-Osae Jr. and representatives of the Executive Council. The CEIBS Alumni Ghana Chapter’s warm welcome reinforced the sense of belonging to a wider, vibrant CEIBS community. Congratulatory messages from the Presidents of the school’s Nigeria and Francophone African Alumni Chapters were equally appreciated by the class.
The evening’s emcee Samuel Ocloo-Dzaba led the reunited alumni in a trip down memory lane as alumni and professors shared touching anecdotes and fun facts from their school days together. In an inspiring address to her classmates, Africa EMBA 2015 alumna Gwen Gyimah Addo expressed her gratitude both to them and to CEIBS for the lasting impact they’ve had on her entrepreneurial journey.
On the final day of the reunion, a delegation of classmates visited the family of Musa Achike Daniels, to pay tribute to a beloved member of the class who passed away in 2018.
Passing the baton
The CEIBS Africa EMBA 2015 Reunion was more than a celebration. The partnership between the school and the organising committee of the class has been acknowledged as a model worth replicating, with participants’ enthusiastic response validating the practice of celebrating a milestone while contributing meaningfully to the school’s future.
With that in mind, the Africa EMBA 2015 Class calls for friendly competition among other cohorts: who will take up the challenge to create the most memorable reunion in the history of CEIBS in Africa?
Looking ahead
This reunion marked a renewed commitment. The Africa EMBA 2015 Class left with fresh memories, a shared project, and a promise: to nurture our connections and contribute to CEIBS well before another decade passes.
