30 Years and Beyond – CEIBS Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

2024 Issue

On November 8, 1994, with dedicated support from the Chinese government and European Union (EU) and driven forward by the Shanghai Municipal Government and the European Commission, CEIBS was established with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) serving as its executive partners. Over the past 30 years since, CEIBS has grown in tandem with the Chinese economy and evolved from an introducer and interpreter of Western management theories in China to a creator and disseminator of Chinese management knowledge in the era of globalisation. In doing so, the school has not only established itself as a world-class leading business school that ranks amongst the best in Asia, but also as a vital bridge for facilitating economic and cultural exchange between China, Europe and the world.

Committed to educating responsible leaders versed in “China Depth, Global Breadth” in line with its motto of “Conscientiousness, Innovation and Excellence", CEIBS has achieved remarkable success in global management education and facilitated China’s integration with the world.

In the face of a complex global landscape, the school has established Eight Strategic Priorities and continues to strive to become the most respected international business school in the world.
