To further promote teaching and research of management issues relevant to a Chinese business context, the Steering Committee of the Shanghai MBA Case Development and Sharing Platform is pleased to announce the launch of the 2024 Global Contest for the Best China-Focused Cases. The contest is open to case developers both inside and outside China.

The contest particularly welcomes those cases that examine China-focused issues from a global perspective together with high-quality, in-depth teaching notes that incorporate theoretical analyses and/or best practices in their focal areas. During the past nine years, the contest has welcomed 2,350 cases by more than 3,300 authors from over 460 schools and institutions in China and around the world. A wealth of high-quality cases emerged from the contest and about 1,100 submissions met the acceptance criteria of ChinaCases.Org, 105 of which proceeded to win awards. By focusing on the latest management issues, these cases have ignited intense discussions and enriched classroom teaching, and ultimately inspiring and changing management practices (learn more about our past winners at www.chinacases.org).

It is with great pleasure that we announce the winners of the 2023 Global Contest for the Best China-Focused Cases! Now in its ninth year, the contest received a total of 303 cases from more than 700 authors at 120 schools and institutions worldwide. After a rigorous evaluation process, we have selected one Best Case Award winner, five First Prize winners and another ten Second Prize winners. More than 130 cases that met ChinaCases.Org's acceptance criteria are now being edited for publication by August 31, 2024. On February 26, 2024, The Case Centre announced the full list of winners of The Case Centre Awards and Competitions 2024, which recognise outstanding case writers and teachers from across the globe and celebrate worldwide excellence in case writing and teaching. We are excited to announce that Professor Shimin Chen,  Zhu Xiaoming Chair Professor in Accounting, Associate Dean and Director of the Case Center at China European International Business School (CEIBS), has won the Outstanding Contribution to the Case Method Award. Professor Chen is an award-winning case author and a seasoned teacher with over 30 years of experience in delivering degree and executive education programmes at universities in China, Hong Kong SAR, and America. He is also dedicated to advancing the use of China-focused cases at CEIBS and in business schools across China and the world.

In January 2024, more than 100 CEIBS cases, rigorously reviewed and selected by the Global Platform of China Cases (ChinaCases.Org), officially went live at the Case Center Japan. The move marks the fourth time an international case library has housed CEIBS cases after Harvard Business Publishing-Education (“Harvard Case Library”), Ivey Publishing, and The Case Centre.
