High-quality, China-focused CEIBS Cases Go Live at Case Center Japan
In January 2024, more than 100 CEIBS cases, rigorously reviewed and selected by the Global Platform of China Cases (ChinaCases.Org), officially went live at the Case Center Japan. The move marks the fourth time an international case library has housed CEIBS cases after Harvard Business Publishing-Education (“Harvard Case Library”), Ivey Publishing, and The Case Centre.
The Case Center Japan, operated by the NUCB Business School, promotes understanding of case method-style education, considered highly effective in educating business leaders. The Center also aims to develop case method educators by organizing training, workshops, symposia, and other case method events. NUCB Business School is the first and the only business school in Japan to receive triple accreditation from AACSB International, AMBA, and EQUIS. The CCJ is committed to developing business-focused cases in Japan and Asia while promoting case method education in Asia in collaboration with world-renowned case publishers and business schools. Partners include Harvard Case Library, IVEY Publishing, and The Case Centre, as well as Darden, INSEAD, and IMD.
The CEIBS cases housed in the CCJ address business management issues in the Chinese context, spanning a wide range of disciplines and industries. “China and Japan are each other’s important neighbors, with both sides stepping up exchanges and cooperation in trade, science and technology, culture, and human resources to provide new impetus to regional and global development,” said Prof. Chen Shimin, Associate Dean and Director of the CEIBS Case Center. “Guided by its mission to promote high-impact knowledge creation and dissemination, CEIBS has been instrumental in developing China-focused cases, driven not only by its teaching needs but also by its goal of facilitating exchanges between China and the global community. We aim to cultivate more globally minded, socially responsible business leaders by sharing the latest cases that highlight distinctive Chinese business practices and management experiences with the CCJ and other international case libraries.”
CEIBS has independently developed more than 1,500 China-focused cases to date, making significant contributions to the high international visibility of Chinese corporate brands, China’s economic growth, and the exchange and mutual learning of management education around the world. CEIBS plans to develop more high-quality China-focused teaching cases to add value to management education in China and abroad.
