CEIBS, Swiss-Chinese organisations partner for look at what 2023 holds for China

March 29, 2023. Zurich, Switzerland – CEIBS Switzerland partnered with the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Swiss Centers, Economiesuisse and Integrated China to host a conference on China in 2023: Impact and Outlook at CEIBS Zurich Campus today. The event was held in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland H.E. Wang Shihting and the Swiss Ambassador to China H.E. Jürg Burri (online), with over 100 people in attendance.
The event began with an introduction by CEIBS Advisory Council Member Felix Sutter who set the scene for discussions about what 2023 holds for China. Mr. Sutter then invited H.E. Wang Shihting to the stage to discuss the latest polices from China’s recent Two Sessions national congress and the business impact of these policies.
Economiesuisse’s Rudolf Minsch was next to speak, discussing 2023 developments in China and the impact on the Swiss economy. The audience was eager to hear about new developments and insights. Mr. Minsch’s talk was followed by Mr. Nicolas Musy, Founder of the Swiss Centers and Founding Partner of China Integrated. He spoke about the general environment in China and what is new for 2023 to an enraptured audience.
Mr. H.E. Juerg Burri, the Swiss Ambassador in China was next to speak, talking about the Two Sessions once again and the perceptions of Swiss companies in China. Following this session, participants had a brief networking and coffee break, rich with conversation about what 2023 holds for those doing business in and with China.
Following the break, CEIBS Professor of Economics and Finance Xu Bin offered insights about China’s economy and the future outlook for the country’s economy. An animated panel discussion then took place with questions from the audience on the perception of Swiss finance following the recent Credit Suisse news and more. Finally, there were closing remarks from Ivo Germann, Head of the Foreign Economic Affairs Directorate at SECO.
A networking session followed, with food and drinks on CEIBS Zurich Campus where people met with new colleagues and peers and reconnected once again with those they have known for some time. CEIBS alumni from the CEIBS Alumni Swiss Chapter were also in attendance. The atmosphere was lively, with many people discussing upcoming business trips to China, setting the ground for future collaborations as people shared their enthusiasm for what 2023 holds from a business perspective.
