CEIBS MBA2024 Employment Data Revealed | Strength Against Trends
In 2024, the intertwining uncertainty of the international market and economic outlook have posed layer upon layer of challenges for the job market this year. CEIBS MBA has leveraged its exceptional educational quality, extensive alumni network, and the relentless efforts of the Career Development Center (CDC) team to pave a solid path for the Class of 2024 graduates to forge ahead in the job market.
Within three months of graduation:
• 93.2% of job-seeking graduates successfully secured at least one job offer
• The final job offer accepted rate was 90.4%
• Among them, 83.1% of graduates successfully transitioned to new careers
This year marks the 30th anniversary of CEIBS, a milestone that not only commemorates its illustrious journey but also underlines its relentless pursuit of educational excellence. The institution's firm commitment to continually improving its world-class MBA programme and its remarkable resilience and innovation in overcoming challenges is evidenced by its eight consecutive years at the top of the Financial Times' ranking as Asia's #1 MBA.

CEIBS attaches great importance to empowering students' career development and is the first business school in mainland China to establish a Career Development Centre (CDC). In 2009, CDC was integrated into the MBA Programme Office to better support the professional growth of MBA students. Leveraging the platform and resources of the school, CDC provides MBA students and alumni with multi-angle and multi-form career development services and support:
· Each year, nearly a hundred career-related events are held, including corporate campus presentations, company visits, industry exchange meetings, headhunter networking sessions, etc., actively expanding students' connections and exchanges with employers, alumni from other programme departments, and other relevant channels.
· Reciprocal cooperation on career development has been established with other world-class business schools, enabling students from both sides to visit each other's schools, book face-to-face career counseling sessions, and access each other's career platforms.
· Comprehensive career support is provided to MBA alumni within five years of graduation, including the creation of an alumni career platform, one-on-one career counseling, industry sharing and exchange meetings, etc., to assist them in continuous employment and career transitions.
· A closer and more united alumni community is fostered, encouraging alumni to continuously participate in the development and construction of the school, fostering deep connections with CEIBS.
Through continuous efforts, the employment rate of MBA students has remained above 90% since 2013, leading among the top-tier business schools ranked globally by the Financial Times. This year, MBA students have continued their excellent employment performance amidst multiple challenges, demonstrating the remarkable resilience, innovation, and adaptability of the MBA programme and its graduates. The destinations of MBA graduates also offer insights into the development trends of China's economy.

Employment Performance and Trends
Manufacturing Tops the List Again, Followed by Technology, Finance, and Healthcare
From the perspective of the distribution of employment industries, industrial manufacturing has become the industry with the highest proportion of employment for two consecutive years, followed by technology, finance, and healthcare, while the consumer goods and media & entertainment industries are tied for fifth place. The top five industries collectively attracted 86.2% of MBA graduates, reflecting a more diversified range of employment sectors overall.
The distribution of the top two employment industries mirrors the immense prospects of technological innovation and manufacturing. Currently, the country is fully committed to supporting targeted technological innovation to empower manufacturing to scale new heights and embrace novelty. CEIBS MBA graduates are actively embracing the real economy and technology sectors, contributing positively to the innovative development of the economy and society.
Meanwhile, in terms of job functions, marketing & sales, finance & accounting, and general management roles occupy leading positions, closely followed by internal consulting, operations/logistics, and other positions. Among them, marketing & sales, as a bridge connecting corporate products and services with external market demands, provides an arena for MBA students to showcase their talents and become the primary domain where they excel after graduation.
Historic Breakthrough for Chinese State-owned Enterprises as Employers, Strong Support from CEIBS Alumni-led Enterprises
Chinese local enterprises have shone brightly in this year's job market, particularly those founded or led by CEIBS alumni, who have made outstanding contributions through their active recruitment efforts, paving broad career paths for the graduating students. Even more remarkable is the historic breakthrough made by Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) for the first time, attracting a record-high 10.9% of graduates. This remarkable percentage not only reflects the eagerness of SOEs for outstanding management talents but also underscores the high competitiveness and wide recognition of CEIBS MBA graduates in the local job market.
