CEIBS reinforces regional and global impact with BSIS label renewal
April 30, 2025. Shanghai – CEIBS has once again been awarded the Business School Impact System (BSIS) label by EFMD Global in partnership with FNEGE, following the successful completion of its 2025 reassessment process.
This renewal marks CEIBS’ continued recognition as a top-tier business school deeply committed to generating impact across three key areas: intellectual, societal, and image. Originally accredited in 2017, the BSIS label renewal underscores CEIBS’ role as a thought leader and catalyst for economic and social development in China and beyond.
The report states that CEIBS "is recognised globally for its role as a hub for cutting-edge research and innovation impact. The school addresses critical global business challenges, reinforcing its role as a thought leader in the industry and highlighting its educational and image impact.” The report also adds that CEIBS serves as a think tank for China with deep-rooted connections to multinational corporations as well as Chinese companies and government institutions.
On the intellectual impact front, the authoritative report points out that in recent years CIEBS’ research ecosystem has gone “from strength to strength” with an established track record of research excellence, application of the Real Situation Learning Method™, a role as a regional think tank, and a strong repository of 3,000+ China-focused business cases.

Beyond research, the report also underscores CEIBS’ commitment to addressing societal impact across all academic and educational activities. With ESG content integrated across both programmes and research, CEIBS plays a leading role in promoting responsible leadership and sustainable business practices. The appointment of a dedicated Chief Impact Officer, publication of an annual ESG White Paper, and the launch of the ESG Research Area all reflect the school’s ongoing effort to drive societal transformation.

The BSIS report also stresses CEIBS' impact beyond the classroom and contributions to shaping Shanghai into a global finance and innovation hub. As a key driver of regional economic and social development, CEIBS bridges Chinese and European dialogue on global business challenges through a strong media presence, high-profile forums, and cross-sector collaboration.
“CEIBS is viewed not just as a business school, but as a national platform for talent development, policy dialogue, and global business education, making it a core contributor to China’s ongoing social and economic advancement,” the report states.
The Business School Impact System (BSIS) was launched by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Fondation Nationale pour l'Enseignement de la Gestion des Entreprises (FNEGE) in 2012, to measure business schools' impact on their cities and regions. Currently, 93 business schools worldwide hold BSIS accreditation.
