EQUIS reaccreditation reaffirms CEIBS’ internationalisation efforts, commitment to excellence

July 4, 2022. Shanghai – CEIBS has successfully renewed its EQUIS accreditation for the next five years. The EQUIS label was awarded to CEIBS by the EFMD in recognition of its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement as an international business school.
CEIBS was the first school in the Chinese mainland to receive EQUIS accreditation and has continuously maintained its EQUIS status since 2004. The reaccreditation follows a virtual visit to CEIBS by the EQUIS Peer Review Team (PRT) in March of this year, during which the PRT met with the school’s Management Committee, degree programme directors, Executive Education team and department chairs and conducted an in-depth assessment of the school’s development.
“CEIBS has always adhered to the positioning of ‘China depth’ and ‘global breadth’ and has strived to promote high-quality, high-impact development and the EQUIS accreditation reaffirms much of our efforts,” CEIBS President Wang Hong says. “Following our five-year strategic development plan, we will continue to strengthen our roots in China, spread the influence of the school’s think tanks, and contribute to the development of China and the world.”
EQUIS-accredited institutions must achieve a balance between academic quality and professional relevance. They are further required to demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalisation.
“Our unique footprint spanning China, Europe and Africa and Real Situation Learning Method (RSLM™) ensure that everything we do is both business practical and rooted in the real world,” CEIBS President (European) Dipak Jain says. “This latest accreditation is also recognition of our on-going role as a vital link for exchange between East and West.”
The EQUIS label places special importance on students’ development of managerial and entrepreneurial skills, together with a sense of global responsibility.
“Pursuing a management degree can be a major undertaking, and choosing the right programme can be a life-changing decision,” CEIBS Vice President and Dean Ding Yuan says. “The EQUIS label serves as a beacon for students looking to identify schools around the world that can help them advance their careers in today’s global business environment. It also serves as a testament to CEIBS’ ability to deliver high quality training.”
First launched in 1997, EQUIS is managed by the EFMD with the objective of raising the standard of management education worldwide.
“Completing the EQUIS accreditation process is proof of the level of management knowledge and education offered at CEIBS,” CEIBS Vice President and Co-Dean Zhang Weijiong says. “We will continue to work to maintain an international orientation, bring together frontier theories with Chinese business practices and contribute Chinese wisdom to the development of global management education.”
The school is also accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The school was first accredited by AACSB in 2008 and most recently renewed its AACSB label in 2019.
