What is the Masterclass ?
The Masterclass series features talks by CEIBS faculty at locations around the world. The audience for these invitation-only lectures includes alumni and friends of CEIBS. Participants have the opportunity to meet with our faculty, admissions team, and local alumni. Furthermore, by attending the lecture experience, participants can deepen their understanding of CEIBS’ China-focused content. The Masterclass series is aimed at strengthening our connection with our international community and engaging our alumni post-graduation and beyond.
About the lecture
As it recovers from COVID, China’s market is exhibiting many new characteristics. On the macro level, businesses are emerging and consolidating in fast-growing industries such as elderly care and electronic vehicles. On the micro level, Chinese consumers are becoming increasingly more active on digital channels, more open to domestic brands, and more forward-looking in spending and consumption. Chinese brands now are utilizing innovative strategies to deliver “consumer success,” ranging from creating direct-to-consumer channels to using AI to enhance marketing and operation efficiency. In this lecture, Prof. Zhang Lingling will provide her analysis on the post-COVID China market with a focus on:
- What are some new trends for Chinese consumers and the China market after COVID?
- What new practices are Chinese brands adopting to serve customer needs and win the market?
- What are the opportunities and challenges in emerging sectors such as elderly care and electronic vehicles?
- What are the implications for Japanese brands competing in the China market today?
