The 2023 CEIBS MBA Employer Appreciation Event was held at our Shanghai campus on Jun 16, with nearly 70 companies from a range of industries sharing their insightful perspectives about the CEIBS MBA programme and young MBA talents.

Between June 16-18, a diverse group of 46 executives, representing some of the best-known companies in the world, came to our Shanghai campus for a 3-day immersion course demonstrating the Global EMBA experience at CEIBS. This was the inaugural delivery of the Rising Leaders Programme, designed to give its attendees the chance to see first-hand what makes GEMBA a world-leading programme and a provider of life-changing academic journeys.

Keen to understand how the GEMBA programme delivers both “China Depth and Global Breadth”, these executives came together from Singapore, Australia, Holland, India, Spain, Italy, Korea, Turkey, Malaysia, the US and China. Diverse and experienced, they represent the best their respective industries have to offer, with each individual averaging 15 years of working experience and 9 years of management experience between them.

Case publishing helps business knowledge find its way into classrooms across the globe to be passed down to future business leaders. However, many aspects of this practice often go unnoticed by educators and students who engage with the case method.  Recently, the Case Center at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and their Director, Professor Shimin Chen had a conversation with Ivey Publishing and shared unique insights into case development and publishing at the CEIBS Case Center, discussed trends in Chinese cases, highlighted opportunities and successes, and shared their vision for chinacases.org to become the most influential China case library globally.

The ongoing rivalry between the US and China is perhaps the world’s most important and concerning developments, and one that affects practically every other nation on the planet.

Inspired by the theme of Beyond, TEDxCEIBS 2023 was held at CEIBS Shanghai Campus by MBA students today.

On June 1, CEIBS Global EMBA Interschool Club collaborated with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Alumni Association (Shanghai Chapter) to hold an event designed to explore the widespread applications of ChatGPT and AI in Business. Held at the CEIBS Lujiazui International Institute of Finance, 75 students and alumni participated, representing a wide range of industries and sectors – all of which have a vested interest in understanding the future direction of these world-changing technologies.

Prospects for long-term growth, integration with the global economy and the ability to capitalize on regional strengths will determine to the future of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).

CEIBS hosted a healthcare seminar with Professor of Management Eric Bouteiller in central Paris on June 1.

As General Secretary Xi Jinping said: “The rich practices during China’s reform, opening up, and socialist modernization in the new era make up a ‘treasure trove’ for theoretical and policy research.” In this context, cases, especially those focused on China, have become an essential tool for management research and education. By drawing insights from the country’s reform initiatives, case studies effectively bridge the gap between research, education and practice. They play a key role in transforming teaching methods and facilitating international academic exchange, thus contributing significantly to the development of management education.
