- The competition is open to students worldwide.

FAQ
The competition typically hosts around 60+ teams from top global business schools. Each team must consist of 2 to 4 members, and all members must be currently enrolled MBA, Masters, or PhD students.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited MBA, Masters, or PhD program. Teams should have a diverse skill set, and while a technical background is not mandatory, a strong business case and innovative mindset are essential.
Registration opens on Feb 10, 2026. The final deadline for the initial proposal submission is March 20, 2026. We recommend registering early to receive the competition handbook and guidelines.
There is no initial interview for registration. However, teams that make it to the semi-finals (Phase 2) may be asked to participate in a video conference or Q&A session with the organizing committee.
There is no registration fee for INNOVATEChina. For finalists traveling to Shanghai, the organizing committee typically provides partial travel support and accommodation subsidies.
Yes. A key feature of our competition is the Star Mentorship Programme, where semi-finalist teams are paired with industry leaders and executives to refine their business proposals before the finals.
