CEIBS Africa Alumni Reunion 2026: A Memorable Gathering in Zambia

In April 2026, CEIBS alumni from across Africa, alongside colleagues from Europe and China came together in Zambia for a reunion that was as insightful as it was refreshing. It was a chance to reconnect, share experiences, and spend a few days learning from one another while exploring a new environment. The event reminded everyone why the CEIBS network remains such a strong and valuable community.
The reunion began on Thursday, 9th April 2026, with arrivals in Lusaka and check-in at the Radisson Blu Hotel Lusaka. The welcome dinner that evening was relaxed and lively, with conversations flowing easily as old classmates reconnected and new friendships were formed. This set a warm tone for the rest of the programme.

On Friday, 10th April 2026, alumni gathered at the University of Zambia Business School Auditorium for the Annual CEIBS Africa Alumni Lecture. The session opened with goodwill messages from key members of the CEIBS community, including President Wang Hong, Prof. Dominique Turpin, Prof. Shameen Prashantham, Prof. Gordon Kwesi Adomdza, and Dr. David Amoo-Osae Jnr. Their messages were thoughtful and grounded, focusing on the importance of staying connected, thinking globally, and continuing to build strong African businesses.
The lecture itself featured compelling perspectives from Vincent Kanyamuna, Associate Professor of Development and Evaluation Studies at the University of Zambia, and Landy Amofa-Sekyi, representing a community that supports Ghanaians seeking to do business in Zambia. Drawing from academia and practical business experience, both speakers shared insightful perspectives on doing business within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The session highlighted opportunities, regulatory landscapes, cross-border collaboration, and the importance of local partnerships for sustainable success in the region.

Later in the day, the atmosphere shifted into celebration with the Fugu Exhibition. Alumni showed up in beautiful Fugu and other traditional attire, creating a colourful and proud display of African identity. It was one of the most enjoyable moments of the reunion.

Saturday, 11th April 2026, took the group into the field. The visit to Lilume Quarry, led by CEO Enoch Mundia, offered a firsthand look at Zambia’s only indigenous quarry as well as its copper mining operations. It was an eye-opening experience, particularly in appreciating the scale of activity and the important role mining continues to play in the country’s economy. From there, the group headed to Lilayi Lodge. The calm, natural setting provided a welcome contrast to the earlier industrial tour. Surrounded by greenery and wildlife, it was a chance to slow down, reflect, and enjoy a different side of Zambia, one rooted in hospitality and conservation.

On Sunday, 12th April 2026, alumni came together for a final roundtable session and closing remarks. It was a reflective conversation. People shared key takeaways, ideas, and in some cases, plans for future collaboration. This brought the formal part of the reunion to a meaningful close.
For some participants, the journey did not end in Lusaka. The optional extension to Livingstone offered an unforgettable adventure. Highlights included a serene sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River, thrilling game drives with close encounters with wildlife, and the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls experience, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Some participants even crossed into Zimbabwe to explore the town on the other side of the falls, adding a cross-border dimension to their adventure and deepening their appreciation of the region’s rich natural and cultural heritage.
The CEIBS Africa Alumni Reunion 2026 in Zambia was, at its heart, about people. It was about conversations, shared experiences, learning, and laughter. It was a reminder that beyond the classrooms and lectures, the real value of CEIBS lies in its network; one that continues to grow, support, and inspire long after graduation.
