CEIBS MBA Class of 2015 Celebrates the End of Term 2

Shanghai, November 29, 2013 – With only one week to go until the CEIBS MBA Class of 2015 complete their final Term 2 exam, CEIBS faculty and staff hosted a small celebration for the students to commend them for their hard work and remarkable achievements since they began their MBA studies in July.  CEIBS Associate Dean and MBA Programme Director Prof Chen Shimin gave a short speech at the event, in which he highlighted some of the students’ accomplishments, including:

- Three MBA Class of 2015 students won the first prize in the ISB (Indian School of Business) case competition. The great efforts by Jennylyn Sy, Karthik Chandra Sekhara and Angela Xu helped win international acclaim for CEIBS;

- CEIBS ranked 2nd overall in the Shanghai Sunny Cup competition between eight of Shanghai’s top MBA schools. CEIBS teams placed first in badminton, second in basketball, third in swimming, third in cheerleading and fourth in tug-of-war. The competition was a great showcase of the athletic prowess of CEIBS’ students;

- Several cultural events were successfully organized by the students, including the first CEIBS Music Night and Shanghai Night. The events are important for helping students and alumni build friendships and lasting memories outside the classroom;

Prof Chen also praised the efforts of the MBA 2015 Student Committee members, Student Ambassadors, and the active participants in the student clubs whose hard work helps create opportunities for networking, continued learning, and a rich student life.
President of the Student Committee Zhongyuan Lee also gave a short speech, in which he thanked everyone for their participation and support of student activities. He said that he and his fellow Student Committee members were looking forward to organizing more events in the coming year.

Following the speeches everyone talked excitedly about their plans for the three-week vacation that follows Term 2, and the challenges that await them in Terms 3 and 4 when their elective classes begin and they must begin finding internships. Everyone was grateful for the new friendships and teamwork that helped ease the difficulties of the first two terms, and felt confident they could face the next part of their MBA study.
