CEIBS Alumni Study Tour to Spain
Background
In January, Fosun International bought 80% of CGD’s Seguros e Saude, Portugal’s largest insurance group, for 1 billion Euros. In March, Jiangsu GPRO Group acquired a hotel in Spain for 52 million Euros, making this the largest investment of Chinese companies in Spain so far. In recent years, economic development in Europe has continued to be weak with countries like Portugal and Spain being directly affected. This year, Europe’s economy has shown slow signs of recovery, and mainland Chinese companies eagerly compete to acquire and invest in various projects. This could be a wise plan for them to get a foot into Europe.
Theme
CEIBS Alumni Association has joined forces with Barcelona Fang Consulting to design a 9 day (June 5-12) Study Tour themed “Investment Opportunities in Spain during the European Economic Recovery”. We won’t be visiting the traditional high-end enterprises, but instead concentrate on finding investment (and M&A) opportunities in the light of European economic recovery; we’ll be exploring industries and even specific enterprises that are suitable for Chinese companies to form partnerships with or even acquire directly. And we’ll explain investment strategies and preferential terms in Spain’s various industries.
