With the support of the London Business School China Club, the CEIBS UK Alumni Chapter is pleased to invite you to attend Professor George S. Yip’s presentation: “China’s Next Strategic Advantage: From Imitation to Innovation” on the 9th of February at 7pm at the London Business School. This talk will present some of the findings of a four-year research study conducted by the CEIBS Centre on China Innovation. It is also the topic of a forthcoming book co-authored by Professor Yip which will be published in April 2016.

Among the strategic innovation questions that Professor Yip will explore during his presentation:

-Why does China have advantages for innovation on both the supply and the demand side?

-What is different about Chinese companies’ approach to innovation?

-What leadership and strategy lessons can foreign companies learn from China?

Professor Yip is CEIBS Strategy Professor and Co-Director of the CEIBS Centre on China Innovation. Based in both Shanghai and London since 2011, Professor Yip’s previous positions include Dean of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and Vice President and Director of Research & Innovation at Capgemini Consulting. Other faculty positions have been at Harvard, UCLA, Cambridge and London business schools. Other business roles include positions at Unilever and Price Waterhouse, and serving on various boards. Prof. Yip is the author of Strategic Transformation (2013), Managing Global Customers (2007), Asian Advantage: Key Strategies for Winning in the Asia-Pacific Region (1998), Total Global Strategy (1992 and 2012); and numerous journal articles.
