Li, Qiang
Associate Professor of Strategy, CEIBS
Prof. Qiang Li is Associate Professor of Strategy at CEIBS. Before joining CEIBS, Dr. Li held a tenured position as an Associate Professor at Peking University's HSBC Business School. Before that, he was on the faculty at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He earned his Ph.D. in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland, an M.S. in Management from Tsinghua University, and a B.A. in Labor Economics and Human Resources from Renmin University of China.
Prof. Li's research primarily focuses on strategic decision-making, corporate governance, upper echelons, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He has published numerous articles in leading academic journals in the field of management, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Strategic Management Journal and the Journal of International Business Studies. Some of his papers have been cited extensively, with their citation count ranking in the top 6% globally within the management field. Additionally, many of his articles have been recognized as the best papers by the American Academy of Management.
Prof. Li boasts extensive teaching experience, having instructed undergraduates, master's students, MBA and EMBA students, and doctoral candidates in subjects such as strategic management, entrepreneurship, and research methodology. His dedication to teaching has earned him numerous awards for teaching excellence.
Prof. Li has a long-standing role as an ad-hoc reviewer for top-tier journals, including the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, and Organization Science. He has also been invited to deliver academic lectures at leading universities across the United States, Europe, and Asia on multiple occasions.
