蔡秀军教授，医学博士、著名外科学家，现为浙江大学医学院附属邵逸夫医院院长、博士生导师，浙江省政协副主席，民进浙江省委员会主委，全国政协委员；兼任浙江大学微创外科研究所所长、浙江省腔镜技术研究重点实验室主任、浙江省腔镜技术重点创新团队负责人；是中华医学会外科分会常务委员、中华医学会外科分会肝脏外科学组副组长、中国抗癌协会胰腺癌专业委员会副主任委员、美国外科学院委员、国际肝胆胰外科协会委员、亚洲内镜腔镜外科协会委员。
蔡秀军教授是国际肝胆胰外科和微创外科领域的领军人物。长期工作在临床、科研、教学一线，致力于肝胆胰脾外科和微创外科的疾病诊治、科学研究和技术创新。通过技术创新、器械研制，拓展了腹腔镜技术的应用范围，提高了腹腔镜手术的安全性；推动了腹腔镜技术在国内的快速发展和普及，为我国腹腔镜技术赢得了国际声誉。
近年来，蔡秀军教授主持了国家“863计划”、国家支撑计划、国家自然科学基金、国际科技合作与交流重大专项、卫生行业科研专项等重大科研项目。获国家技术发明二等奖1项、国家科技进步二等奖2项、浙江省科技进步一等奖3项、教育部科学技术进步奖一等奖1项。主持制定并编写了中国首部腹腔镜肝切除操作指南；发表SCI收录论文87篇；出版“十一五”国家重点医学视听教材5部；主编、参编教材及专著20余本；获授权专利20余项；主编专业参考性报刊1份。他还经常被邀在国内外微创外科、肝脏外科会议上作专题报告，并进行手术演示，得到了国际同行的广泛认可。
由于蔡秀军教授业绩突出，1999年当选为浙江省优秀医生，2005年当选为浙江省首批特级专家，2007年荣获何梁何利科学与技术创新奖，2007年入选“新世纪百千万人才工程”国家级人选，2010年被评为卫生部有突出贡献中青年专家，2013年荣获“浙江省科学技术重大贡献奖”和“吴杨奖”。

 Cai Xiujun, MD, FACS, is currently the attending surgeon, professor, and president of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and director of the Key Laboratory for Laparoscopic & Endoscopic Technique of Zhejiang Province. In addition, he is a member of the Standing Committee of Chinese Society of Surgery, vice director of the Hepatic Committee of Chinese Society of Surgery, vice director of the Pancreatic Cancer Committee of China Anti-cancer Association, fellow of the American College of Surgery and member of International Hepato-Pancreato-Billary Association.
Dr. Cai has practiced general surgery for 30 years with a special expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary, pancreatic and splenic diseases as well as minimally invasive surgery. He has made impressive contributions to the advancement of surgical techniques. Dr. Cai has performed programs of 863 Project and National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is a prolific producer of medical literature, he has published over two hundred papers to date, both in domestic and international journals. Among these, 87 were indexed by SCI. He has also published a monograph Laparoscopic Hepatectomy in Springer, published five videos for the national education of minimally invasive surgery and granted for 20 invention patents.
For his remarkable achievements, Dr. Cai has been awarded a multitude of awards and honors. Most notably, he has been awarded the National Prize of Second Grade for Advancements in Science and Technology in both 2009 and 2004 as well as the National Prize of Second Grade for Invention in Technology in 2001. He also won the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Youth Innovation Prize, the Zhejiang Provincial Significant Contribution Prize in Science and Technology and he has been appointed as a “Changjiang Scholar” of Ministry of Education. Lastly, he has been recognized as a Zhejiang Provincial Super Expert and National Outstanding Middle & Youth Scholar.
