Please join us for our upcoming CEIBS Executive Forum on June 12, 2021, with Mr. Zeng Guang’an, Chairman and CEO of Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Group, who will give a lecture on Challenges and Opportunities for the Construction Equipment Industry and LiuGong’s Path to Globalisation.

The construction equipment industry serves as an important pillar in every country’s economy. It is closely related to the construction of infrastructure and is regarded as a barometer of economic development. The Sino-US trade war and COVID-19 have had a profound impact on the global economy, and the development of the construction equipment industry has also been deeply affected. What are some of the current opportunities and challenges for the construction equipment industry? Will the pattern of the global construction equipment industry change radically in the future?

Chinese enterprises are regarded as latecomers to the construction equipment industry. Nevertheless, China has shifted from early technology importer to present day R&D innovator and from a focus on the domestic economy market to one on the global market. In just 20 years, Chinese enterprises have done what European and American brands took almost half a century to complete. So, what drives Chinese construction equipment enterprises to globalisation? And what kind of experience do these enterprises have along their journey to globalisation?

About the speaker

Mr. Zeng Guang’an has been in the construction equipment industry over 35 years. He started his career at LiuGong as an engineer in 1985. In 1995, Mr. Zeng was appointed CFO & Vice President and promoted to President in July 1999.

He was appointed Chairman of Guangxi LiuGong Machinery in January 2014. Mr. Zeng Guang’an also serves as Vice President of the China Chamber of International Commerce Guangxi Branch. He received his bachelor’s degree in mining machinery and Masters in Technical Economy Management from Chongqing University.
