Executive Forum: The Revival of Purpose Driven Companies
Please join us for our upcoming CEIBS Executive Forum on February 24, 2021 with Mr. Kamran Vossoughi, President and CEO of Michelin China, who will give a lecture on The Revival of Purpose Driven Companies.
The current global sanitary crisis is reshaping the world as humans have begun to rediscover fragility, anger and fear, but also resilience, confidence, hope and greatness. Even mobility, a basic need for many, is under constraints. The relation of people with their ecosystem and employees with their companies is changing. Countries and companies are behaving very differently in handling crisis. Consequently, people are looking for meaning in life and purpose at work.
‘Purpose’ is a buzzword in today’s business, but what exactly does it mean to be a purpose-driven business? Does it mean prioritising profits and the race for growth at the expense of people? Does it mean sacrificing profits? And how does it drive decisions about preserving the planet and shape accountability to future generations?
Michelin has overcome many crises during the past 132 years. In 2020, Michelin helped manage the global sanitary crisis by protecting people and ensuring that business could continue while being socially responsible all around the world. In China, Michelin drives growth and profitability while being extremely people-centric and acting on behalf of the environment.
Purpose begins as words, but to be effective it must be translated into actions. So, how can Michelin and other successful companies use the power of purpose to drive competitive differentiation, emotional engagement and commitment to the planet?
Please join us on February 24 for this special talk with Mr. Vossoughi.
