Please join us for our upcoming CEIBS Executive Forum on December 3, 2020, as Mr. Yihao Zhang, President & CEO of GE Healthcare China, reveals how his firm has played a vital role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

China’s handling of COVID-19 is widely regarded as a success, but less well known are the technological and business stories behind the viruses’ containment. From the building of a fully-functional ventilator production line in just 100 days to developing a portable CT scanner in just two weeks to help equip emergency field hospitals deployed in Wuhan, Mr. Zhang will share a ‘behind the curtain’ look at GE Healthcare’s experience on the frontline of an unprecedented crisis. Mr. Zhang will also detail the teamwork and effort which went into installing hundreds of pieces of new medical equipment in the field hospitals with a skeleton crew of limited engineers scraped together during the lockdown in Hubei province.

During this session, we will also learn about the innovative solutions GE Healthcare has rolled out to support clinicians in the detection and treatment of the virus, including providing conventional medical equipment and setting up command centre’s with real-time information tools and providing vital guidance to help health organizations manage critical hospital and medical resources.

About the speaker

Yihao Zhang is the President and CEO of GE Healthcare China and is responsible for the company’s strategic development and business operations in the China market. As a leading global med-tech and diagnostics innovator, GE Healthcare has been operating in China over 40 years, where it now has 7,000 employees and five manufacturing sites.

Prior to joining GE, Mr. Zhang was Senior Vice President for Danaher Dental Platform and President for China & APAC, responsible for the overall business strategy and performance of three operating companies – Kavo Kerr, Ormco and Nobel Biocare – in China & APAC. He successfully led Danaher Dental’s China localization efforts in R&D, manufacturing, business development and talent management. 

He has also held a variety of leadership positions for Fluke, the Danaher Tool Group and Danaher Dental Platform, with experience across sales, marketing, supply chain, product and general management. Mr. Zhang began his career in finance with TRW in the US and Canada and has also worked for P&G in brand management in the US. 

Mr. Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a master’s degree in Engineering Management from McCormick School of Engineering, Northwestern University.
