Please join us for our upcoming CEIBS Executive Forum on May 28, 2020, with Mr. Nicolas Poirot, CEO of Air Liquide China, who will give a lecture on Management Role Evolution in a Fast Changing Market Environment and Increasing Complexity of Organizations.

Air Liquide is a world leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare. Operating in a broad range of rapidly changing industries means each of Air Liquide China business lines must conduct business and evolve in different ways in order to accompany their customers’ evolution. A more competitive environment and new technology have also encouraged Air Liquide to transform its internal organisation and introduce new ways of working with verticalisation of shared service centres and cross-country pooling of operation centres as business partners, and to revisit the role of experts and “support” functions. At the same time, it is management’s role to ensure a harmonious assemblage between the front-line business and operation teams with the function teams. In today’s environment, global vs local, generalist managers vs expert managers, and multiculturalism with a greater expectations for close relationships between customers and teams, are posing new challenges and expectations on managers.

In his talk, Mr. Poirot will share his thoughts on management’s role in addressing various challenges in company identity, customer experience and employee experience during rapid business and organisational transformations.

About the speaker

Mr. Poirot joined Air Liquide as a tele-monitoring expert in 1995. Before taking on the role of CEO of Air Liquide China in September 2019, he was General Manager of Air Liquide Vietnam from 2008 to 2012. From 2012 to 2016, he served as Vice President of Operations Control & Executive Committee Secretary of Air Liquide Group. In March 2016, he started as Vice President of Air Liquide’s South West Europe Cluster.

Prior to joining Air Liquide Group, he worked with Matra Electronique and Elf Serept. He has also he served as Trade Advisor for the Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur de la France.
