Join Alan Lewis, Managing Director at L.E.K. Consulting and co-author of Edge Strategy: A New Mindset for Profitable Growth as he discusses a disciplined, methodical approach to helping you grow your business by focusing on myriad opportunities that are often hiding in plain sight at the edge of your core business. He has researched nearly 600 companies worldwide across 60+ industry sectors and found that only about 10% of these companies consistently exploit opportunities at the edge of their business – but those that do significantly outperform on multiple dimensions.

Alan’s presentation will explain how business leaders in companies of any size can develop the pattern recognition skills to identify and add new sources of high-margin growth – by investing less money with less risk. He will describe how to look for the enormous, untapped source of profit that exists on the edge of a core business through the sale of ancillary goods and services that actually make a customer's interaction with the business more complete.

About the Speaker

Alan Lewis is a Managing Director at L.E.K. Consulting, a leading global strategy consulting firm, and member of the firm’s Global Leadership Team. Based in Boston, he works with leading consumer-facing companies around the world in making major strategic decisions and disruptive moves. 

He is co-author of the Harvard Business Review Press book Edge Strategy: A New Mindset for Profitable Growth (simplified Chinese version published recently), and has been featured in publications such as Forbes, Bloomberg, HBR, The Economist, Financial Times and Inc.com. He was recognised by Consulting Magazine as a Top 25 Consultant in 2016. Prior to joining L.E.K.'s London office in 2003, Alan spent five years with chemicals multinationals Imperial Chemical Industries Plc and INEOS.

He is qualified as a professional engineer with the Institute of Chemical Engineers in the UK and has a MBA from the University of Cambridge. Alan received a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University College Dublin.
