We cordially invite you to attend the CEIBS Executive Forum on June 19, 2019 with Mr. Bruno Roche, Chief Economist & Managing Director of Mars Catalyst, who will give a lecture titled Why Does Purpose as a Strategy Make a Difference?

Today, many companies have or seek to have a purpose that goes beyond profit maximization and embraces social & environmental issues. Yet, most purposes are still descriptive of the companies’ values and often self-serving. Few grasp the huge business opportunity of leveraging Purpose as a strategy to transform business performance – across the people, planet & profit equation. At a time when more and more companies are striving to align short-term and long-term goals and to address their impact on the world through charity and CSR programs, there is a duty and an opportunity for business leaders, investors and management schools to redefine the purpose of business -- which is to produce profitable solutions to the relevant problems of people and the planet in their respective ecosystems.

This talk and discussion panel will explore the power of putting purpose into practice to drive growth strategies – with an emphasis on how companies can transform their business model to increase both their performance and their positive impact on society and the environment.

About the Speaker

Bruno Roche is a French economist, speaker, businessman, author and the leader of the Economics of Mutuality movement. He is currently the Chief Economist of Mars, incorporated (a large multinational family owned company, makers of iconic brands like M&Ms, Dove, Mars, Snickers, Uncle Ben’s, Pedigree, Royal Canin, Wrigley’s gum, and more) and the Managing Director for Catalyst, a global thought leadership capability and internal corporate think tank with presence in Asia, Europe and the USA. 

Bruno Roche co-created the Mutuality in Business Lab at Oxford University, he serves as an expert to the World Economic Forum and is a visiting lecturer in different universities. He co-authored the book, “Completing Capitalism: Heal Business to Heal the World” which has been translated in China by Citic Press in 2018.
