Speakers

Dr. Majid Ghorbani is an Associate Professor of Management Practice and Deputy Director of Global MiM CEIBS (Switzerland)-ESCP Double Degree Programme at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, he was an Associate Professor of Management and the Academic Director of the International MBA Programme at Renmin University of China. Dr. Ghorbani received his PhD and Master’s degrees in Business Administration in International Business from Simon Fraser University and Bachelor of Law in International Politics from Peking University.

Dr. Ghorbani’s research interests mostly focus on the influence of government, policy and political systems on corporate social responsibility, and innovation and entrepreneurship strategies. His publications appear in numerous leading academic journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, Management and Organization Review, and more. As the winner of teaching awards from universities in both China and Canada, Dr. Ghorbani’s courses on Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation in China, Corporate Global Strategy, and Qualitative Case Study Research Methods, are welcomed by students at all levels.

Dr. Ghorbani also has more than 15 years of work and consulting experience. He has helped both for-profit firms and not-for-profit organisations develop internationalisation and global strategies and implement technology upgrades such as digitalisation. He has worked with various United Nations organisations in China, developing and implementing projects to achieve sustainable development (the predecessor of the UN SDGs) through technology. With extensive practical and academic knowledge, Dr. Ghorbani has participated in several bilateral and multilateral public-private partnership projects.

Mattia Landoni is Associate Professor of Finance at CEIBS. Previously he served as economist in the U.S. Federal Reserve System and taught at Harvard University, Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, and Babson College. He holds a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Columbia Business School and a Master of Public Policy from Duke University. Mattia has written on public finance, lending markets, financial stability, tax optimization strategies, and cryptocurrencies. His writings appeared on FT Top 50 journals, including all top-3 finance journals.

Karen Manqi Xi

Ms. Karen Manqi Xi is a cross-cultural practitioner with genuinely global perspectives. Educated in Canada and the United Kingdom, she graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in PPE. Early in her career, she engaged deeply in the global health and energy sectors, leading in-depth industry research projects across ten countries, thereby accumulating rich international business expertise. Driven by a profound understanding of the Chinese market, she pursued an MBA at CEIBS to construct a systematic business management framework and actively facilitates commercial understanding and connections between China and the world. Currently, as Associate Director of Customer Success & Marketing at Evinova, she is dedicated to leveraging global resources to foster innovation and implementation in the health industry.

Jerry Yue
Founder and Chairman, Tonway Strategic Consulting | Postgraduate: Tongji University | CEIBS HEMBA Alumni
Mr. Jerry Yue is a perpetual explorer and lifelong learner in the field of strategic consulting. After obtaining his master's degree from Tongji University, he dedicated two decades to the consulting industry, founding Tonway Strategic Consulting and leading services for numerous renowned brands. A firm believer in the value of continuous academic return, he pursued further studies at CEIBS and EHL Hospitality Business School in Switzerland, earning his third master's degree. He integrates cutting-edge business theory and scientific methodology into consulting practice, advancing the field from experiential judgement to systematic science.
