Speaker
Dr. Majid Ghorbani is an Associate Professor of Management Practice and Deputy Director of Global MiM CEIBS (Switzerland)-ESCP Double Degree Programme at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, he was an Associate Professor of Management and the Academic Director of the International MBA Programme at Renmin University of China. Dr. Ghorbani received his PhD and Master’s degrees in Business Administration in International Business from Simon Fraser University and Bachelor of Law in International Politics from Peking University.
Dr. Ghorbani’s research interests mostly focus on the influence of government, policy and political systems on corporate social responsibility, and innovation and entrepreneurship strategies. His publications appear in numerous leading academic journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, Management and Organization Review, and more. As the winner of teaching awards from universities in both China and Canada, Dr. Ghorbani’s courses on Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation in China, Corporate Global Strategy, and Qualitative Case Study Research Methods, are welcomed by students at all levels.
Dr. Ghorbani also has more than 15 years of work and consulting experience. He has helped both for-profit firms and not-for-profit organisations develop internationalisation and global strategies and implement technology upgrades such as digitalisation. He has worked with various United Nations organisations in China, developing and implementing projects to achieve sustainable development (the predecessor of the UN SDGs) through technology. With extensive practical and academic knowledge, Dr. Ghorbani has participated in several bilateral and multilateral public-private partnership projects.

Steven Kuang
Founder, Matrix Inno | Undergraduate: Hunan Normal University | CEIBS Alumni
Steven Kuang is an entrepreneur born after 1995 and a former sensor engineer at DJI Innovations. After completing his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at Hunan Normal University, he worked as a sensor engineer at DJI, gaining extensive experience in hardware R&D and product implementation. Driven by a passion for exploring the commercialisation of technology, he chose to pursue an MBA at CEIBS to systematically build his business management knowledge and complete the transition from engineer to entrepreneur. In 2019, he founded Matrix Inno, dedicated to advancing innovative applications of sensor technology. As someone who has embarked on this journey a few steps ahead, he maintains a curiosity for the unknown and a spirit of exploration, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to discover the infinite possibilities of the future together with the younger generation.
Elsa Li
Founder, CIWEI | Postgraduate: Zhongnan University of Economics and Law | CEIBS EMBA Alumni
Teacher Yaping is a CEO who serves as both a guiding light for the future and a warm heart, widely recognised as the founder who best understands and embraces the post-00s generation. After completing her master's degree in Management Engineering at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, she held senior HR positions at Huawei and Emerson, focusing on the development and cultivation of young talent. In 2015, keenly perceiving the post-90s generation's desire for freedom and experience, she founded CIWEI, a one-stop platform for youth career development. Today, the platform has grown to encompass three business segments: "CIWEI Internship," "CIWEI Experience," and "CIWEI University," attracting 5 million followers across the internet, achieving annual revenues exceeding 20 million RMB, and securing Series A funding of tens of millions from Oriental Fortune Capital. She chose to return to academia for the CEIBS EMBA programme to empower her youth development initiatives with more systematic business wisdom, continuously creating space for young people to explore and experiment.
Kan Chen
Founder of Hezhongzi Capital | Undergraduate: Durham University, UK | CEIBS Alumni
Kan Chen is a multi-faceted explorer spanning the worlds of finance and industry. After completing his undergraduate studies in Accounting and Finance at Durham University in the UK, he worked at GF Securities and Walgreens Boots Alliance, accumulating extensive experience in investment banking and cross-border investment. Starting from traditional finance, he gradually expanded into venture capital and industrial operations, founding Hezhongzi Capital and serving as a director for multiple enterprises including Pluslife, Dowch Waterborne Coatings, and Funto Intelligence, deeply engaging in the integrated development of technological innovation and the real economy. Choosing the CEIBS MBA was a crucial step in integrating his financial perspective with industrial thinking, injecting more systematic business logic into his cross-disciplinary practice. He firmly believes that crossing boundaries is not an endpoint, but a starting point for discovering more possibilities.
