About this event

In the context of globalisation and geopolitical shifts, foreign enterprises in China are currently facing both unprecedented challenges and unrealised opportunities. At this event, Mr. Jerry Wang, President of Siemens Healthineers Greater China, will explore for the current experiences of foreign companies in China. He will share insights on how foreign enterprises can adapt and thrive amidst changing market conditions, policy adjustments and local competition, emphasising the importance of understanding the unique characteristics of the Chinese market and implementing localisation strategies. Mr. Wang will also discuss how foreign companies can identify growth opportunities amid global economic uncertainty, particularly focusing on how strategic adjustments can facilitate long-term development in the Chinese market.

Dr. Dongsheng Zhou is Professor of Marketing and Director of CEIBS Healthcare Sector Research Centre at CEIBS. From 2006 to 2017, Dr. Zhou served as Academic Co-chair of SEPC, a joint executive training programme with Harvard Business School and SEM of Tsinghua University. From May 2007 to 2012, Prof. Zhou was the Associate Dean in charge of CEIBS’ alumni relationships. In 2021, he was awarded CEIBS Teaching Excellence Award. He previously served on the Faculty of Business at City University of Hong Kong. Before his academic career, he oversaw market research for a large state-owned trading firm in China. Dr. Zhou received his PhD from Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. He obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Science & Technology of China (USTC).

Dr. Zhou's research focuses on marketing strategies, game theory, MNE strategies in China, China's private enterprises, and the globalisation of Chinese firms. Dr. Zhou has been a Principal Investigator on a number of research projects in Hong Kong and mainland China. His research has been published in the Academy of Management Review, International Business Review, International Marketing Review, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Global Marketing, and Journal of International Economics, among others. Dr. Zhou has taught company training programmes for GE, Philips, AkzoNobel, Bayer, CITIC Group, Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Tencent, China South Airlines, China Shipping Container Lines, and more. Over the past few years, Dr. Zhou has conducted consulting services for several local and global firms (including  IBM and Du Pont) in industries such as advertising, agriculture, automobile, banking, chemicals, food and beverage, infrastructure, internet, petroleum, real estate, securities, and telecoms.

Mr. Jerry Wang

Mr. Jerry Wang is currently the President of Siemens Healthineers Greater China and Member of Siemens Healthineers Global Leadership Committee. Mr. Wang graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a major in Biomedical Engineering and joined Siemens Healthineers in 2001 as the Marketing and Product Manager of their MR Business. Subsequently, Mr. Wang has held several key positions within Siemens Healthineers, including Deputy National Sales General Manager, General Manager of MR Business and General Manager of Angio and X-ray Business.

From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Wang served as Vice President and General Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and Advanced Therapies at Siemens Healthineers. He then went on to become the General Manager of Sorin Group China from 2012 to 2016. Between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Jerry Wang served as Senior Vice President of Royal Philips Group Greater China and President of Philips Healthcare Group Greater China.

In addition to his positions at Siemens Healthineers, Mr. Jerry Wang has a rich educational background, completing an EMBA program from China Europe International Business School in 2017. Mr. Wang also serves as a member of the 16^th Shanghai Committee of the China Democratic League, a delegate to the 13^th National Congress of the China Democratic League, Vice President of Shanghai Pudong Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, Vice Chairman of China Association of Medical Equipment, Vice Chairman of the IVD Committee of CEIBS Alumni Healthcare Industry Association, and Executive Director of Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) China, among other significant roles.
