China has a vibrant and rapidly evolving venture capital industry, which has played an important role in the transformation of the Chinese economy. The focus of this talk will be on the sources of value creation in China as well as on VCs’ ability to identify promising entrepreneurial ideas and transform them into successful companies. We will also discuss the role that geopolitics plays in China’s VC industry and its implications for valuation.
Speaker
Dr. Viktar Fedaseyeu is an Associate Professor of Finance at CEIBS. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from Boston College and his B.S. in Economics from Belarus State Economic University. Prior to joining CEIBS, he was an Assistant Professor in the Finance Department at Bocconi University. Dr. Viktar Fedaseyeu’s research interests lie in the areas of corporate finance, political economy, and consumer finance. His research has been featured in highly influential international media outlets such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe, and the Harvard Business Review, and has been published in major international scientific journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and Journal of Corporate Finance.
