About the event

This full-day event offers participants a fully immersive exploration of the Global EMBA (GEMBA) classroom. Complete with an in-depth introduction to the GEMBA programme itself, an interactive lecture with members of our esteemed faculty, as well as meaningful discussion with alumni and students as they share their most important take aways from the programme. If you are considering a Global EMBA, this event is a great opportunity to dive into the CEIBS environment, experience a typical classroom learning session, and discover your true potential with GEMBA.

This immersive experience will begin with a welcome address and an in-depth introduction to the programme elements from our Associate Dean, Director of the Global EMBA programme, and Professor of Economics, Bala Ramasamy. This serves as an ideal exploration of the themes and core elements of this rigorously academic programme.

The next element of the day is a panel discussion with our alumni, who will share their perspectives on their personal Global EMBA journey. This is an excellent way to see firsthand examples of how GEMBA can make a lasting impact on executives’ lives and careers. You will also have the chance to spend time with the alumni post-session, and ask them one-to-one any questions you may have.

Finally, we will spend the afternoon in the classroom enjoying an interactive lecture by CEIBS Associate Professor of Finance, Viktar Fedaseyeu. This session will offer participants an insightful framework on value creation, and will inspire you to look at the forces that propel the rise and fall of dominant market players. The key question addressed in the lecture is how the emergence of disruptive technologies and superior business models shifts an industry's competitive landscape. During the session, we will also invite an experienced CEIBS alumna from the automotive industry to discuss the topic, illustrating the ability of conceptual frameworks to guide managerial decision-making.

This event also gives participants a great opportunity to speak with our admission team, experience the campus environment firsthand, and get a firm idea of what life at CEIBS is really like.

Who should attend?

This event is open to professionals with a minimum of 10 years’ working experience, including 7 years in managerial positions. It is designed for those who are considering applying for the Global EMBA, and those who want to have a deeper exploration into their potential fit with the Global EMBA.

The final round of enrollment for the next CEIBS Global EMBA class is currently underway. CEIBS admission staff will be present at the event to meet with interested candidates.

About Our Speaker

Dr. Bala Ramasamy is a Professor of Economics, Associate Dean and Director of the GEMBA Programme at CEIBS. Before joining CEIBS, Dr. Ramasamy was Professor of International Economics and Business and acting Director of Nottingham University Business School at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia. Prior to that, Dr. Ramasamy served as a faculty member at both Massey University in New Zealand and the University of Macau. He has been teaching at higher institutes of learning since 1988 and has extensive experience teaching students of different backgrounds and cultures in mainland China, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Ghana and the UK.

Dr. Ramasamy's research interests focus on Asian economies, foreign direct investment, corporate social responsibility and international business strategy. His research has been published in many journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, World Economy, Journal of World Business, Journal of World Investment and Trade and Journal of Business Research. His views are regularly sought by the media. He has been interviewed by CCTV, Bloomberg, AP, Al Jazeera, Channel NewsAsia and more. His comments have also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Time and other media outlets around the world.

Dr. Viktar Fedaseyeu is an Associate Professor of Finance at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, he was an Assistant Professor in Finance Department at Bocconi University. Since 2012, Dr. Fedaseyeu has also served as a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

Dr. Viktar Fedaseyeu’s research interests are in the areas of corporate finance, political economy, and consumer finance. His most recent work studies the intended and unintended consequences of firms’ interactions with the political system as well as the determinants of corporate political participation. Prof. Fedaseyeu’s research has been featured in highly influential international media outlets such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe and the Harvard Business Review and has been published in major international scientific journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and Journal of Corporate Finance.

Dr. Viktar Fedaseyeu’s teaching interests include corporate finance and financial markets. While at Bocconi University, he was a two-time recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award. He received his PhD in Finance from Boston College and his B.S. in Economics from Belarus State Economic University.
