About this event

When it comes to digital transformation, enterprises have progressed from pursuing technology adoption and upgrading a single business to improving core competencies based on digital-enabled, forward-looking and sustainable strategies. In doing so, they have shifted from a fixed mindset to an evolutionary mindset, from focusing on promoting single projects to thinking about building new management platforms and transforming their enterprises into ones that can quickly experiment and iterate, and from merely fulfilling performance indicators to implementing strategies for business survival and success.

So, how should enterprises seize the opportunities brought by digital transformation? First, they should understand industrial development patterns and have a strategic plan to enhance their core competency; second, they should be aware of deficiencies in their management systems and find ways to remedy them; and, third, they should develop digital technologies and capabilities to reshape operations and management. Digital transformation involves not only reducing costs and improving service efficiencies, but also putting in place the closed-loop system involving strategy, tactic, execution and evaluation.

During this event, Mr. Shiwei Hu, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of 4Paradigm, will share with us the story of why, when digital transformation brings about qualitative change, an enterprise will stand out as one that can address industrial deep-seated problems using digital and intelligent technologies.

Mr. Shiwei Hu has a wealth of experience in fields such as digital and intelligent transformation, online business operations, large-scale machine learning, advertising, search, industry vertical application and R&D management.

Mr. Shiwei Hu was previously involved in advancing the intelligent transformation of Baidu as China’s earliest technological upgrade in the field of advertising and search system. As a member of the founding team of Lianjia, he led its transformation to Ke Holdings Inc., the first digital transformation across China’s traditional industries.

He has led the digital transformation of many enterprises, including the world’s largest bank, China’s largest international restaurant chain group, and China’s leading orthopaedic device provider. He also took the lead in developing China’s first-generation AI platform for enterprise digital transformation – the 4Paradigm Sage Platform – which has retained its top spot by market share amongst Chinese machine learning platforms since 2018.

Mr. Shiwei Hu is a member of the APEC Digital Economy Committee and head of the industrial digitization project group. He serves as a lecturer for Digital Transformation Project of the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. He is also an expert consultant to Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum and initiator of agenda items on industrial digitization.
