Comparing Value Creation in Chinese and Western Social Enterprises
Join us on August 17, 2022, for this special webinar with CEIBS Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship Daniel Han Ming Chng about the differences between how Chinese and Western social enterprises create value.
About the webinar
Companies today are being challenged to create both business and social value. These goals are often contradictory yet interdependent, creating paradoxical tensions that invoke conflict and defensive actions. So, how can managers better deal with these tensions to create shared value?
In this webinar, Prof. Daniel Chng will share ideas from his research on Chinese social enterprises, for-profit organisations with explicit social missions as their primary goals and which derive significant proportions of their operating funds from commercial business activities. Prof. Chng will discuss what unique actions social entrepreneurs take, how they take these actions, and how these actions lead to a form of leadership that helps enterprises effectively manage paradoxical tensions to achieve dual social and business goals.
