Profile of the Wings of Music
Now in its 12th year, the Wings of Music, a children’s musical charity, aims to offer underprivileged children access to music education that can spur them to pursue their dreams. In partnership with the China Symphony Development Foundation, this charity project has invited outstanding musicians to deliver children both top-class classical music training and opportunities to perform alongside a symphony orchestra at concerts.
Lv Siqing
Lv Siqing is the most active and celebrated Chinese violinist on the current music scene. Given his close partnership with leading conductors and musicians in and outside of China, he is often invited to hold solo concerts, perform alongside renowned orchestras in China and abroad, and deliver a performance at prominent art festivals around the world. His elegant and exciting violin sound has captivated audience at popular performance venues in more than 40 countries and regions. He has served as Art Director for the May Music Festival of the National Centre for the Performing Arts of China for many years. In addition, he often sits on the judging panel at many international music competitions. Starting from 2021, he has served as the founding principal of the Yehudi Menuhin School in Qingdao.
Chai Liang
Chai Liang is a world-renowned violinist, conductor, and music educator. In 1997, he graduated from the Juilliard School, US. He performed in famous concert halls, such as the Royal Albert Hall, UK and Auditorium du Musée du Louvre, France, and hosted solo concerts in the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, hailed as the palace of world music, in New York. He has been devoted to developing chamber music that combines Western classics with traditional Chinese pieces. In 2009, he initiated the Wings of Music charity project to provide underprivileged children with access to free music education while giving away musical instruments. He taught at the Juilliard School, Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and the Central Conservatory of Music.
Noah Hocker
Noah Hocker is an American trumpet player. He studied under Terrell Stafford, an eminent American jazz musician and trumpeter. In 2017, he was awarded the title of Best Soloist of the Year by the “World Improvisation” in Madrid, Spain.
Noah Hocker is a versatile and well-rounded musician, with a deep respect for jazz. For him, love means constantly producing and performing music to express his emotions and present his views of the world. His original Swing Jazz album “Head to head” was released in November 2019.
