Keynote Speech: Chinese Foreign Investments: Post-pandemic Opportunities Chinese foreign investments are trending toward public-private partnerships. In other words, Chinese private firms have more opportunities to participate in foreign projects that are initially led by SOEs. Prof. Dipak JAIN
President (European) and Professor of Marketing, CEIBS
Dr. Dipak Chand Jain is President (CEIBS) and a Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. He is a globally recognised marketing and innovation expert whose insights have inspired a generation of business leaders to pursue success with significance. Dr. Jain’s influential career spans nearly four decades as an educator, a senior business school administrator, and a consultant to corporations and governments. Throughout his career, he has furthered a pedagogical model that combines academic excellence and business relevance to produce high-impact results with social significance.
Prof. Richard CARNEY
Assistant Professor of Strategy and International Business, CEIBS
Dr. Richard W. Carney is a member of faculty in the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). His teaching and research interests primarily focus on business-government relations. He is the author of Authoritarian Capitalism: Sovereign Wealth Funds and State-Owned Enterprises in East Asia and Beyond (Cambridge University Press, 2018), which won the 2019 Masayoshi Ohira Prize. A paper utilising the framework developed in the book won the Best Paper Award on Emerging Economies Research at the 2018 Academy of International Business Meeting; another paper building on the same framework was a finalist for the GW-CIBER Best Paper Award on Emerging Markets at the 2019 Academy of Management Meeting.

Zhenghong is a female entrepreneur from Jiangsu, China. She was appointed as a deputy to the 11th and 12th National People’s Congresses, Vice President of the Wuxi Federation of Industry and Commerce, and is employed as a Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Mentor by the Shanghai Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Centre.
The enterprise she leads focuses on taking root in the field of power intelligence and using the latest scientific and technological means to develop various software and hardware products and solutions, to make the power facilities more intelligent and controllable, to bring more safe and reliable power consumption goals to users and protect the safety of their personnel and property, and help reap more benefits brought by information technology.

Peter graduated from Nanjing University with both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree. After graduation, he worked in Nanjing Metals and Minerals Imp. & Exp. Corp. conducting international trade for a few years. In 1993, he founded Chervon together with two partners. Over past 20+ years, Peter has led Chervon Holdings to become a global leading power tool & outdoor power equipment company with over 5,000 employees in the Chinese mainland, HK, North America, Europe and Australia. Peter is also the Chairman of Nanjing Chervon Auto Precision Technology, which provides key component solutions for middle- and high-end automobiles in China and the world.
Mr. Ruiqin LI (Africa EMBA 2012)
Managing Director, Keda Ceramics (Kenya) Company Limited
Ruiqin Li, Partner of Sunda Group, currently works as MD of Keda Ceramics (Kenya) Company Limited, operating and managing in Africa for 15 years. Sunda Group has changed from trading in building materials, FMCG and hardware products since 2000 into a diversified enterprise both in manufacturing and trading. It has set up factories to produce ceramic floor tiles and wall tiles, baby diapers, detergent powder, a more in different African countries. It has more than 12,000 employees with estimated turnover of 10 billion RMB in 2021.
Mr. Xiaodong XIN
Head of Strategic Planning and Investment Development, China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park
Xiaodong Xin has a dual Master’s in Russian from Peking University and an MBA from Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. He also has 10 years of overseas working experience with state owned corporations such as CNPC and China Merchants Group and has participated in bilateral cooperation megaprojects both in the energy and industrial park development areas under the Belt and Road Initiative. He currently works as director of strategic planning and investment development for the Great Stone Industrial Park Development Company.
Mr. Abe XU (MBA2018)

Jiajun Xu, also known as Abe, was born and raised in China. Currently, he leads the Investment and Asset Management division at CFLD International (Indonesia). With prior working experience in management consulting, he has served companies from China, the United States, Germany, Sweden and Indonesia.
