Honorary President, CEIBS
Professor Liu Ji is the Honorary President at CEIBS. He graduated from the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University. From 1958 to 1978, he successively held the posts of Engineer and Director of Shanghai Internal Combustion Engine Research Institute under the Ministry of Electromechanics; from 1979 to 1992, he successively assumed the positions of Executive Vice Chairman of Shanghai Association for Science & Technology and Chair of the Economic Restructuring Commission of Shanghai Municipal People's Government; from 1993 to 1998, he successively took up the positions of Vice President, Research Fellow and Member of the Academic Board of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; from 1999 to 2004, he served successively as President and Executive President of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS); since 2005, he has been Honorary President of CEIBS. He had held the position of Chairman of CEIBS Education Foundation from 2005 to 2014.
His works, co-authored or co-edited, include Structural Strength of Internal Combustion Engines, Technical Measurement of Internal Combustion Engines, Invention and Implications of Internal Combustion Engines—Fundamentals of Science for Sciences, Fundamentals of Leadership Science, Modern Think Tanks and Modernization and China. He also has undertaken studies on the strategies for China’s economic development, economic restructuring and macro-economic, political and cultural affairs. He has authored five monographs including Socialist Reform. He has published over 100 academic articles, such as Separate Government Functions from Enterprise Management, Essence of Economic Globalization and Strategic Solutions, Analysis of Contemporary Capitalist Society and On the Historical Status and Role of Intellectuals. He has earned an enormous reputation in academic, political and business circles both at home and abroad.
