"I have been working for 20+ years in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore, mainly in the Human Resources discipline. At work, you tend to draw on all the brainpower and knowledge accumulated over the years. At some point there is a moment of fatigue and you seem to be running out of energy or ideas. Two years ago on a clear day I felt a strong urge to get new inspirations and rejuvenation, immediately I decided to go for CEIBS to search for what I wanted.
The 'global' aspect of the programme appeals to me the most. Firstly, we have a truly international line-up of students. My classmates come from countries all over the world, from various kinds of industries and disciplines. Secondly, our resident professors are of a world-class standard. CEIBS also enlists great visiting professors from leading business schools around the globe to give us lectures. When surrounded by people who are intelligent, who have totally different backgrounds and experience from yours, life becomes much more colourful and provocative. I also find our Global EMBA programme design very global-minded as well. CEIBS is probably not only aiming to nurture talents for China, but also trying to connect China to the World. Studying real-life cases of world-class companies is absolutely enlightening and eye-opening to me. I was most thrilled and impressed by the opportunity of joining a lecture in Cornell University in US. Non-stop interactive debate with Cornell Queens College Global EMBA students has sharpened my thinking and thrown light on many new possibilities that never occurred to me as viable. The richness of culture and diversity of students have led me to take a totally new perspective of the world.
I have made many decisions in my life, and joining Global EMBA with CEIBS is probably one of the decisions which will have a profound impact on me for the rest of my life. Academically I have learnt a great deal of management knowledge from world-renowned professors, intellectually interaction with people of all walks of life has opened up my horizon to see the world from many different new angles. Lastly but definitely not the least, I have managed to make a lot of new friends and many of them for sure will turn out to be my lifelong acquaintances in the long run. I guess my sweat gets a pretty handsome payoff."
