Faculty Profiles
Dr. Haikun Zhu is an Assistant Professor of Finance at CEIBS (China Europe International Business School). Prior to joining CEIBS, he was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University, Netherlands. Dr. Zhu holds Ph.D. and Master's degree in Finance from Tilburg University, Netherlands, and Bachelor's degree in Economics from Nankai University.
Dr. Zhu’s research primarily focuses on empirical financial technology and behavioral corporate finance. Several of his papers have been published in global leading business and management journals recognized by the Financial Times (FT50), including Journal of Financial Economics and Management Science. He has received several prestigious academic awards, including the Best Paper Award at the SFS Cavalcade Asia-Pacific Conference (2017), the Best Paper Award at the International Workshop on Financial System Architecture and Stability (IWFSAS, 2018), the Best Paper Award at the Finance Down Under Conference (2018), and Top Researcher at the Erasmus School of Economics (2022). Since 2010, Dr. Zhu has been invited to present at numerous conferences and seminars.
At CEIBS, Dr. Zhu teaches courses on Blockchain Technology and Digital Assets, Fintech, and Corporate Finance. He also serves as a reviewer for several academic journals, such as Management Science, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Business Ethics.
