Lou graduated from the Department of Automotive Engineering, Tsinghua University in 1986. Then he joined Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. and served as engine assembly technician, chief of quality control section, workshop director and company secretary in succession. In 1997, he went to CEIBS and received his MBA degree at the end of 1998. After that, he came back to Dongfeng and served as vice president of Dongfeng Design & Research Institute, deputy director of Marketing Department and Sales Department of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., and member of the board and executive vice president of Dongfeng Yulong Motor Co., Ltd. In 2003, he left Dongfeng and joined Shanghai Posway Investment Co., Ltd. as chairman. He founded Shanghai Welly Motor Co., Ltd. in 2004, Shanghai Welly Logistics Co., Ltd. (now Shanghai Welly Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.) in 2007, and Qingyuan Logistics Co., Ltd., Shiyan, Hubei in 2011, providing production, warehousing, logistics and distribution services to auto companies. In 2011, he founded Shanghai Weitian Asset Management Co., Ltd., a company focusing on auto financing business. The main thrust of his business now includes supply chain management and financial service in automobile production, and financial service and value-added service in automobile sales. He is also dedicated to integrating the auto industry and financial industry, and addressing the financial problem along the automobile supply chain.

He is now president of CEIBS Alumni Auto Association, vice president of Tsinghua University Alumni Chapter Shanghai, executive vice president of Tsinghua Automotive Alumni Chapter Shanghai, and vice president of CEIBS Alumni Chapter Jiading.
