Mr. Jin Weigang is currently President and research fellow of the Chinese Academy of Labour and Social Security. He received his doctorate from the Department of Sociology, Peking University in 1993. He used to be Director-General of the Social Security Research Institute at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Mr. Jin also serves as Vice President of China Health Insurance Research Association, member of the Expert Committee for the Healthcare Reform Leading Group under the State Council, member of China Economic and Social Council of CPPCC, expert of the Policy Advisory Committee at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, member of the Expert Committee on Professional Capacity Building at the Capacity Building Center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and senior think-tank expert of the Insurance Association of China. He is the adjunct professor at Peking University, Renmin University and the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He has undertaken and completed a series of major projects concerning health insurance reform and research of relevant policies. Mr. Jin is a recognized expert who enjoys the State Council Special Allowance and one of the “National Leading Talents in Philosophy and Social Sciences” named by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology.
