Mr. Julio Gay-Ger was appointed President and General Manager of Lilly China in January, 2018.

A native from Argentina, Julio became an Accountant from Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1988 and worked for Arthur Andersen for seven years. With the objective of broadening his business skills, Julio moved to Fontainebleau, France where he completed a Master in Business Administration from INSEAD in 1995.

Immediately after INSEAD, Julio was hired by Lilly and worked in the US between 1995 and 1997, when he returned back to Argentina. Julio spent 5 years in Lilly Southern Cone based in Buenos Aires where he worked in sales, marketing, and business development. In October 2002 Julio moved to Indianapolis as Marketing Director, Latin America. Later on, he took responsibility for the Ethics & Compliance program in OUS markets.

Julio was appointed General Manager for Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay in 2007, subsequently becoming Area Director for LACMASS (medium and small size countries in Latin America) in 2012. In that role, Julio had responsibility for 22 countries organized in 5 different business affiliates. From June 2013 to December 2017, Julio wasthe General Manager of Lilly Brazil, based in São Paulo.

Between Feb 12-17, 2017, Julio took the “Leading Global Businesses” program at Harvard Business School, Boston USA. Julio is a member of the board of Interfarma (pharmaceutical innovation trade association), Amcham (American Chamber of Commerce in Brazil) and United Way Brazil.
