Prof. Gao is currently Director of Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University. He is also Professor of Pediatric Surgery and PhD Supervisor in Hospital Management and Pediatric Surgery. He was awarded as Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution by the Ministry of Health.

His former titles include Vice President of Children’s Hospital, Shanghai Medical University, Chief of Property Management Division, Shanghai Medical University, Director of Medical Technology Division, Fudan University, Deputy Director of Science & Technology Division, Fudan University, President of Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, Deputy Director of Shanghai Hospital Development Center, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Executive Vice Chairman, Shanghai Branch of Red Cross Society of China. He boasts extensive expertise and practical experience in the areas of hospital management, healthcare informatization, health economics, discipline and research management, and industrial operations.

Prof. Gao serves as Chairman of Medical and Health Management Committee, Society of Management Science of China, Adjunct Professor of School of Public Health and PhD Supervisor in Hospital Management, Fudan University, and Co-supervisor of Institute for Hospital Management of Tsinghua University. In addition, he is Editorial Board Chairman of Guideline of Chinese Hospital Management, Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration, Vice Chairman of Expert Committee, China Hospital CEO, and Vice Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Health Resources.
