Chen, Zhuo
Assistant Professor of Strategy, CEIBS
Dr. Zhuo Chen is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, she was an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at Kogod School of Business, American University. Dr. Chen received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Strategic Management from Rice University, and M.A. in Economics from Duke University.
Dr. Chen’s research focuses on corporate strategy and entrepreneurship, with particular interests in the role that mergers and acquisitions, corporate venture capital, and intellectual property rights play in technology sourcing, corporate financing and corporate renewal. Her research has been published in top academic journals, such as Strategic Management Journal. Dr. Chen was invited to present at numerous conferences, including the Academy of Management Annual Conference, Strategic Management Society Annual Conference, Strategic Management Society Special Conference, among others. Her scholarship has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Finalist for the Best Conference Paper Award from the Strategic Management Society, the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management, among others.
As a teacher, Dr. Chen has taught courses on strategic management at American University and has gained experience in supervising undergraduate Capstone project with local business in Washington D.C. Dr. Chen has reviewed for Journal of Economic Surveys, and currently serves as a reviewer for the Academy of Management Annual Conference and the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference.
