It was continued for two decades and trained over 1,000 management scholars.  In 2002, he helped found the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR), the largest scholarly association devoted to the promotion of management research in China.  He served as the President of IACMR (2014-2016) and the Program Chair of its 5th Biennial Conference in Hong Kong in 2012. His co-edited book with Xiao-Ping Chen and Anne Tsui on research methodology for Chinese management research was published by the Peking University Press in 2008 and again in 2012. It was the best-selling method text in graduate management studies in China.
